Team Leo Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, nonprofit animal rescue. We are run by volunteers who love animals and want to make a difference by helping these forgotten animals find loving families. Our mission is to provide a better life for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, while working to address the root problems of animal overpopulation, and educate our community about animal welfare and the virtue and need for animal rescue. 

Team Leo Animal Rescue works in conjunction with owners, animal shelters, and Good Samaritans to help save dogs who have run out of time or are living in cruel or unsafe conditions.

Dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds come into rescue, from lovable mutts to striking purebreds. They take different paths to get here, but most find themselves confused and abandoned through no fault of their own. An owner may move somewhere that doesn’t allow dogs, or someone adopts a cute puppy but is not ready for the amount of work and cost involved, or a new baby enters the family, and the couple decides they no longer have the time for their four-legged companion.

Team Leo Animal Rescue started it's rescue mission in 2007 and became a registered nonprofit organization in 2016.   

Team Leo Animal Rescue is extremely proud to be a 501(c)(3) organization. We have worked very hard to achieve and keep this status.  Our rescue resides in Vail, Colorado.  We have saved thousands of animals from all circumstances such as abuse, abandonment, volatile living situations, hoarding, puppy mills, and high kill shelters. We focus on animals with special needs, disabled, senior, hospice, and many just needing extra time to find their forever family.  Our goal for all dogs we rescue is to rehabilitate medically, physically, emotionally and then re-home them in our Vail Mountains.  We also provide a forever retirement home setting for the special needs dogs and cats that require lifelong care.
